But I digress, because this post isn't about limey/sugary Brazilian alcoholic beverages, but about the fact that we are GOING TO NEW ORLEANS!
Whoo hoo! I've never been there before, but Anne (that would be my MIL) booked her flight from England into Houston, rather than Dallas or Austin... which means a 6.5 hour drive for us to go and get her.
So, instead of fussing over the drive, Will and I called up my mom and said, "Hey, are you interested in taking the kids for 5 days?" to which she replied, "You betcha!" (thanks, Mom!)
.... and so BAM! a trip to New Orleans was set in motion. We love spontaneous road trips. Ahhhh, like the good ol' days before kids.
Will is insanely excited because of the jazz scene. He is a huge music fan and being in Jazz City is just his thing.
I'm insanely excited because of the Ghost and Vampire tour...

(ooooohhhh, creepy!)
and the Cemetery and Voodoo tour...
I love the haunted histories of famous cities and I can't wait to see the tomb of the Voodoo Queen, Marie Laveau. So fun.
And I'll have a big bowl of gumbo... mmmmm....
So off we go (we leave tonight). I wont be back until next week, so au revoir my lovely bloggers and I hope you all have a fantastic week.
xoxo,
Oooh...shout out a mental "hello" as you pass through Houston (we don't live too far from Intercontinental). I would LOVE to do a ghost tour...in theory. I'm embarassingly superstitious and have an overactive imagination to boot, so I've chickened out more than once. When we lived in Boston I was only about 45 minutes from Salem...I was brave enough to visit the Witch Museum...during the day...but never to do one of the ghost tours. I guess I was afraid to run into some old colonial ghosts :)
ReplyDeleteAren't grandparents great? I would be tagging along with Will rather than you through New Orleans :) Would love to experience that whole Jazz scene...I had the biggest crush on Harry Connick Jr growing up lol...he's still hot!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I love that Crown Coffin Locket Necklace...and New Orleans.

Okay, I'll take a minute out of being insanely jealous to say hooray for getting to go the New Orleans!
ReplyDelete(My father brags about how he flunked out of college down there way back in the day. Something about cheap beer and riding a streetcar till he sobered up?)
Brazilian drinks you say, eh? lol
ReplyDeleteHow fun to go to New Orleans, with Vampires and Ghosts? Sounds like a lot of fun!
WOOT WOOT!! Have a ball!!
ReplyDeleteOh, wow. I love impromptu trips. Have a wonderful, and ghostly, time and tell us all about it.

Have a lovely trip!!! Wish I was coming with you instead of trying to get ready to move!!!
ReplyDeleteWait, I'm still stuck on the fact that the point of the post is not about limey/sugary Brazilian alcoholic beverages...
