Egg decorating came late in our household.
Not as late as our Halloween pumpkin cookie decorating which we didn't start until mid-November. Or our Christmas gingerbread men cookie making which we didn't start until February.
But we did only just open the Glitter Egg decorating kit this morning. Gracie didn't mind. I guess to a three year old, glitter eggs are magic no matter when they are created!
The best part of our egg decorating, was that Gracie could pretty much do the whole thing herself. The eggs and dye were placed into baggies before covered in glitter, so the project was fairly mess-free.
And Gracie was so proud of herself and her shimmering, glittery eggs, that she actually smiled at the camera without bribes and begging!
We may just have to hit up the store for their half price after-Easter egg decorating kits, so we can make some more next week!

So pretty! I never made Easter sugar cookies. I had these great cookie cutters w/ butterflies, rabbits, ducks, etc. I'm thinking about busting them out later this week w/ the kids. They don't care Easter is over - we're just extending the holiday. :)
What a great job on the eggs..You know, I love looking at the children.
Brings back so many happy memories.
What a great idea! Why was I rushing around like crazy trying to get everything done that I needed to get done on Saturday? We could have just dyed our eggs late. Much less stress that way when you don't have a deadline. I think I'm gonna try extending holidays from now on too. We never did carve the pumpkins I bought for Halloween...just got too busy and for some reason I didn't think to do it after Halloween.
Looks like great fun and they're beautiful eggs to boot. I have a kit for making Halloween cakes in my pantry... think it's ok to have Halloween in April ? ;)
Yes I think glitter is good any time of year.
She looks like she is very hard at work - hHow fun! I can't wait till my little one is big enough to decorate Easter eggs!
