On the weekends, Will and I take turns sleeping in. If I sleep in on Saturday, he gets Sunday. The girls like it best when Will is the one who has them in the morning. I'm a grouch, and still half asleep until cup of coffee numero 3 kicks in at about 10:30 am. Generally, I pass the girls some toast and then stand in the kitchen with coffee in hand until the caffeine is running strong in my veins. They don't think I am any fun at all.
Will, on the other hand, cooks lovely, big breakfasts - breakfast tacos being the usual tradition - and the girls have the best time with him. He always lets them do stuff I don't let them do.
This past weekend, it was early morning gymnastics. I awoke to see the girls both in swimsuits - oh sorry, I mean leotards - practicing their jumping off the couch and sticking their legs out... just like the gymnasts in the Olympics.
We live on the second floor of our apartment complex... jumping is not allowed. And, as it is the middle of winter, I don't generally let the girls run around in nothing but a swimsuit. See what I mean? I'm no fun at all.
My girls are so talented. Just look at the dedication and concentration as Annelie stands on one leg. I give her a 9.8.
Our downstairs neighbors must seriously hate us.
I can't wait until the girls are older and I really get to see which hobbies they love and want to stick with. Perhaps one day, Gracie or Annelie really will be in the Olympics (although I do not see myself as a big hair-do and too much make-up wearing gymnastics mom). In the meantime, I think it is pretty cute to see them posing in their swimsuits - ahem, leotards!
And I make Will answer the phone all day so that he is the one who gets shouted at for all the thumping.
Enjoy!

Awww your girls are so cute in their swim costumes :) It sounds like Will is a fun papa! We've never had tacos for breakfast. My hubby usually cooks French Toast.

I used to practice jumping off the coffee table onto a futon mattress that my dad would set up for our gymnastics - this brings back some good memories :)
How stinkin cute!!! Yea, I am the no fun mommy, too. Daddy is fun and lets them do lots of things they are not aloud to do. My hubby buys them donuts...and lets them eat 2-3! Nuts. Your daughters are adorable!
so cute.
My DD loves daddy best right now, and I'm the one that makes breakfast and gets up with her.
Your girls are so cute.
That looks like a lot of fun! I'm the no fun Mama too. Your girls are so adorable in their "leotards". Thanks for making me smile!
This is too cute! I love their little poses! reminds me of me when I was a kid. I used to wrap t-shirts around my head and pretend a had a fancy updo. :)
Adorable! Reading this makes me feel like even though I'm not married/ready, I want a little girl of my own. NOW! lol. Your blog is great :)
Your girls are so cute! :D And your posts about them cracked me up! :D I love the one about Annelie sitting with Gracie during Gracie's time-out. She must love her big sister so much that she can't bear her sitting alone. :)
Found your blog through Etsy's forum. It's fun to read. :)
They are so cute..Heck, their little feet couldn't cause too much noise for the downstairs neighbors..
haha, you'd better send your downstairs neighbors a Christmas card or something! Just hope they don't start banging on their ceiling with a broom!
Your girls are absolutely adorable! Who cares if you piss off a few neighbors!
they're adorable~ sounds like you and your hubby have a good system!
how very cute - love the photos...the looks on their faces are priceless! my kids have been jumping off things too (but without permission from either of us! lol)
I found your blog through Etsy too. Cool how it (Etsy) has expanded my world. And I'm so glad to hear you're writing, though how you do it all is a mystery to me. When I write, I become so obsessed I do little else, which is why I don't do it anymore. But you're enticed me with your NaNoEdMo. I have a completed novel that could use some work. Thanks.
A leotard is a unitard without the legs. A leotards is usually associated with acrobats, dancers, thespians, and gymnasts. It is worn as an outer garment. A bodysuit is to a leotard what a body stocking is to a unitard or catsuit, in that it is usually worn as an undergarment.
