Capture the Moments WITH Your Kids (and also, teach the 2 year old to SMILE!)

On Saturday afternoon, it occurred to me that the last time I was in a picture with my two children, was ONE photo from last summer. And the last time I was in a picture with just Gracie was ONE photo from last winter, and with Annelie... are you ready for this? This is bad.... two years ago. I know, I know. She is only 2.5 now, so that means the last photo of the two of us, she was only 6 months old.

So, without wasting a second, I grabbed my kids, grabbed my camera, and sat us all down for a photo shoot. I couldn't help but crack up when I saw Amanda's post over at The Mama Dramalogues yesterday - Great minds think alike!

In my head, I had this idea that we'd have a lovely smiling family photo - the three Hopkins gals.

Annelie... she obviously had other ideas.

*Sigh*

She thinks she is so darned cute.

And funny.

And while these pictures are certainly something for the album... I think we may need to try for that super sweet smiling family photo another day!

xoxo,

haha, our family pictures look pretty much the same way. Someone is blinking or looking the total opposite direction or is making a goofy face. But thats what makes the pictures priceless, they are an honest representaion of their little personalities :)

Your girls are so stinkin cute!!!

How cute. These are great moments to capture...even without the smile ;)

How do you get that "you might also like" feature at the bottom of your posts?

Great blog by the way! :)

I need to get over my fear of the camera and have this done asap. Seriously. Thanks.

great pics, I trained the Peanut to hit the shutter release when the camera is on the timer so I wouldn't wear myself out getting up and down and running back and forth.

A good trick with the little's is to get them to yell out Marshmallows for a smile, a marshmallow face is much nicer than a big old cheese face.

At our hose we do pics with Mommy on Mothers day every year, otherwise there are very few pics with me in front of the lens

I was JUST saying this same thing, haha. Well, I have plenty of pictures of me and Charlie (ok not plenty, but a few), because he can't run away from me yet. But pictures of me and Elie, or a picture with me and BOTH of the kids, HAH. I really need to get a picture of me and the kids this week. I will. I WILL, haha.

What a stinker. :oP Still very cute photos though and you can tease her about them when she's older.

Looks like Annelie is trying to do her best Gene Simmons impressesion :) Dom got a pic of me running around pushing both kids in the laundry basket. It was a butt shot. I guess that's my good side!!

Great pictures! And good thinkin'. I have very few pictures of me and the boys. And they're almost "all growed up".

Obviously she thinks her tongue is her most beautiful asset! Haha. Kids are hilarious. You'll love these photos as she gets older, and she'll probably be embarrassed by them.

Rejoice in her individuality - she gets it from her momma. :)

Hugs,

Kate
