Let me tell you a little something about me: Crazy Cat Lady was supposed to be my destiny. Even my friends in high school believed that I would be a lonely librarian surrounded by a house full of cats. I didn't mind that at all.
BUT the gods had a different plan for me, and I got married and had kids, instead. And my husband... allergic to cats. Can I tell you just how much my heart has been aching for a kitten these last five years?
Luckily, I happen to be married to the most wonderful allergic-to-cats guy in all the world. Knowing how much he loves and adores his dog (who I never really latched onto - I'm a crazy cat lady, after all) he turned to me today and said, "Lets go and look at kittens, and then maybe, just maybe we can get one." So we packed up the girls and off we went to buy ONE kitten from the animal shelter.
Was it easy picking a little tiny kitten? Nope. Especially not when a lady from PetSmart came in, only seconds after us, and started packing all the kittens in her carrier to take to the pet store. We saw two fluffy little babies that she was about to load up and take away, and Will - without even taking a moment to think - called out, "Wait! Don't take those ones!"
The lady looked at him and asked, "Does that mean you are buying them both?"
And he said, "Yes!"
So, without further ado, may I present:
Sophie and Somersault! (haha, I can't help talking in baby kitty voice)
(Gracie named them. We call Somersault 'Somer' for short)
They are the fluffiest, most affectionate powerhouses of purr in the entire world. Only about eight weeks old and these two little girls already think they rule the roost. They don't even meow... they squeak.
The little old lady with twenty-four cats that lives deep inside of my soul, is completely thrilled with our new family members. If you think I blog about my kids a lot... just you wait. I hope you love kittens.
We never in a million years expected for quiet and timid Sophie to latch on the Annelie... but she did. Of all of us in the house, Annelie is who Sophie wants to sit with and follow around!
But what of my allergic-to-cats husband, you may be asking yourselves...
I think he'll live.

Oh Em Gee!! Those are 2 sweet little kittens! My girls are gonna be in heaven next weekend. They want a cat BAD. Their solution to my allergies is to trade me in for a Mommy that's not allergic to cats!
oh oh oh they are sooooo stinking cute!! I seriously just did that super girly "awwww" squeel thing outload (causing my husband to look at my like I'm crazy) I just wanna nuzzle em!
Aw, congrats crazy cat lady! Those are two cute kitties.
I am so happy for you! they are the sweetest little kittys :-)
I never had a cat growing up, and could never understand the appeal, until my sister got 2 of them. Now I can't imagine living without cats, so I may end up one day, as the crazy cat woman, lol!
(oh, and I work in a library, haha!)
Awwww. I grew up with The Cat Lady. All the strays in the neighborhood ended up at our house...and more than half were adopted by us. We had one dog...and she was forced to be tolerant of cats. We are animal lovers...period, but have stuck with dogs over 14 years of being married. Hubby...not a cat person...though he keeps saying to me "you want a cat don't you". Honestly...I miss cats...but not cleaning the litter box...so no kitties in our foreseeable future...but yours are SO cute. I love the whole "Annelie, don't squish her"...and the "I not!"...hee hee.
Those are the cutest kittens ever! Love the names too:)
Allergy medicine will take care of what his tollerance build up doesn't. What a GREAT hubby and what cute kittens!
I kind of want to be a crazy cat lady no matter what. I just have one now since most of my business attire is black, but some day, when I'm working for myself, crazy cat lady here I come!
I was thinking "awww, kittens? A VIDEO?!" but the entire time I'm thinking "those two girls are so adorable."
You've raised a great pod :)
... I'm oogling kids instead of kittens... is that a sign? Eep.
Oh my goodness!! Those are 2 of the cutest kittens I've seen in a while! Your kids are gonna LOVE them (and you) forever! My boys love their kitties so much. I'm a cat lover myself...they are so much better than dogs IMO. Get your hubby some zyrtec (now available OTC) and if it's still bothering him, have him go to the doc and ask for singulair to go with the zyrtec. Good luck!
is this sophie lavendar and somersault daddy? love the names :)
im not really a cat person...or an animal person for that matter but thet are adorable. what a great husband you have!!
Kittens are always better in pairs!
They are so cute and so are the girls. :)
Enjoy!!!

My nephew is allergic to cats, and his youngest loves 'em so my NIL found non-toxic wipes that work. They've had their cat for several years now, and Mike has no trouble at all. Search "cat allergy wipes" online; you'll find them several places. She simply wipes the cat down periodically, not sure how often. (Your kittens are adorable, and how smart you were to get two! Wish I had--my Max is too old now to bring in another.)
OOOOOHHHHH....how sweet!!! I love kitties!! Their names are perfect! They are so fluffy & cute!
