A Contest For A Cupcake

I told you all that I had a great November giveaway planned, and here it is... but it is really more of a contest. Yup, I am putting you to work if you want to win this one.

I've been craving cupcakes again. But what to draw, what to draw... I'll let you tell me that!

How do you enter? Simple. Just think about a lovely little cupcake, the cupcake of your dreams. Think up colors, think up flavors, think up all the little toppings that go on top... and be sure to let me know all about it in the comments of this post.

On Saturday, November 8th, I'll pick two winners and illustrate their lovely little cupcakes. It might take me a few days to do it, but I'll be sure to show the cupcakes off when I'm done.

What do the two winners get? An 8 x 8 print of their cupcake design, as well as a set of 8 matching gift tags.

So come on, everyone! Get thinking and dreaming and be sure to leave a comment!

Enjoy!

xoxo,

I'm game! I love fluffy white cake with soft, buttery cream yellow frosting! I think bright candy "flat dots" would look cute placed on the top.
Mmmmmmmmm...now I want a cupcake!

Oh! It HAS to have a cherry (all the best cupcakes do) and it should be a chocolate cupcake, with sweet pink stripes. Or minty/olivey green stripes. That would make a nice contrast with the red cherry. And a blue background. : D

Amanda Conger said...

Oh, shows how much attention I pay, you are already on top of the cherry thing. : )

Also, I've awarded you the "I Love Your Blog" Award. See my post for more details! : )

How fun! I'm picturing one a little abstract or different than the norm. I'm seeing it as a stary night - dark as the sky with stars, moon and some clouds.

I'm going to go with my daughter's latest favorite. That would be vanilla icing with strawberries and colored sprinkles.

Great contest, but I love all your cupcakes.

Can't believe it, I was honestly just looking through my cupcake recipe book today when I had a sweet craving and wanted inspiration..... I LOVE and have always LOVED the classic 'Butterfly Cupcakes' you know the ones you cut a small bit out of the top of the finished cake then put a small dollop of jam and a bit bigger dollop of whipped cream then place the pieces back on top to look just like fairy wings... a small dusting of icing sugar and YUM!!!
Now how to add color to this..... the cupcake cases would absolutely be a chance for gorgeous color and the cream can be ever so slightly colored in pastels like pink, lilac, lemon, mint green, soft orange - and with a few of those sparkly silver balls for decoration what little fairy (or I) could resist???so sweet!!

I found a pic to show you the basic 'fairy cake' but with your drawing skills and imagination it could be so much more

Let's see, I'm going with a fluffy, lightly lemon-flavored cake topped with rich, abundant lemon yellow frosting. Top it off with a dusting of coconut and crystal sugar sprinkles.

Oh my!

My "dream" cupcake would have buttery golden vanilla cake ... with some pudding or sour cream in the mix to make it dense and moist. It must be baked in a purple paper ... because purple is the symbolic color of royalty. :~)

The frosting would be rich, velvety-smooth chocoalte fudge.

Some pink and white sprinkles ... not too many, just enough to give it some whimsical color ... would speckle the deep brown fudgey frosting. It would be topped off with a small dollup of real whipped cream and sweet maraschino cherry!

Now, I'm hungry, LOL!

What fun ... thank you!

Okay, I don't know how fun this would be to draw, but it is so fun to EAT. The new Cupcakes on Kavanaugh shop here in Little Rock makes some amazing combinations, and every single one is worth the price. But my very favorite (available only on Fridays) is the Margarita cupcake. Grand Marnier cake. A tall, piped pile of tart lime frosting. And just a sprinkle of green sugar to make it sparkle. These chicks are geniuses. *wondering if the store is open yet this morning*

Anything for a chance to win!!! I'm completely smitten with the color orange (wearing an orange shirt right now!) So, I'm thinking a lovely vanilla cupcake with a sweet tangerine, ginger icing in a lovely shade of orange of course! And some sugared flowers in fushcia on top (always thought orange and bright pink were great together!)

MMMm....

I'm dreaming of a Key Lime Cupcake. Light green, lime green, and colorful pink and yellow citrus colors sprinkled on top. YUMMMMMY

I have no idea, but I was picturing something wedding like, with gold swirly accents on some buttercream frosting with a touch of pink or something. I'm getting hungry.

oh yay - this is fun!

As I don't like chocolate, the cake part has to be white cake, not yellow, with bits of cherry pieces mixed in with the fluffiness. Lots and lots of sweet pink icing on top and pretty red and white circle sprinkles. And of course a cherry at the very top to set the whole thing off :-)

thanks alot Marisa - now I'm starving!

yum!
my dream cupcake would be like a chocolate-ginger cake with a lemony frosting and chocolate ganache and tiny bits of crystallized ginger! I'm not sure the chocolate goes with ginger and lemon, but I'm dreaming here :)

you know me and my love of cowboys so here goes...

blue cup with a red frosted cupcake. instead of sprinkles; horseshoes and stars. no cherry on top... a big star.

instead of a pedestal, maybe a saddle or a wooden surface.

background would have a big blue sky with little mountains or just cacti.

great contest!!

My ideal cupcake would feature Vanilla Cake with a Caramel Filling. Our Wedding cake had flowers on it, so I would like to add some flowers too. I love daisies so the wrapper would have daisies or maybe sugar daisies on top. Periwinkle frosting would be a pretty color. It would also be nice to find a surprise jewel, like a diamond or ruby, in my cupcake as well! Have fun creating!

okay, you've already got a jillion comments, but I gotta throw my little cupcake out there. How about an orange dreamcicle cupcake? Orange cake, with white or pale pale orange buttercream icing, topped with a sugared orange slice. mmmmm....

Wow, fantastic giveaway! My cupcake would have to be associated with what happens after it rains. The cupcake would be full of colorful colors to represent the rainbow, the icing would be fading red, yellow, pink with a lot of sprinkles in different colors. The top of the cupcake would have a fancy, that's right, you guessed it, pot of gold! How cute of a cupcake would that be? ;)

Great contest!
How about a fantastic Red and Black cupcake with Hearts sprinkled on top and roses painted on the wrapper!
It could be Red Velvet cake - yum!

Kim said...

I think the cupcake should be raspberry lemon.

A little different and yummy!
Lemon raspberry cupcake, with lemon icing and a little raspberry on top!
Maybe a bit of red sugar on top as well for some colour.

I had to be different :)

Hmmm... Let's see...
White frosting with that edible glitter (must be edible y' know!), sprinkled with sparkling POMEGRANATE seeds and a chunk of dark chocolate (bitten by me) on top. All in a silvery cupcake paper.

But I think kim's raspberry lemon sounds darned good, too!

You don't make enough chocolate, it's a cupcake staple! Dark chocolate cake with milk chocolate frosting, pink, yellow, white and blue sprinkles in a 2 shades of turquoise striped cupcake holder. Sitting on a soft orange counter with a light turquoisy wall in the background. Maybe the wall has a curly q pattern. Sigh, okay, time to bake!

Winklepots said...

Oooo, or an Alice in Wonderland cupcake! A chocolate cupcake, with blue frosting and white sprinkles in a checkboard cup! You can even give it a little cupcake sign on the top that says "Eat Me!" :o) Feel free to use my new korkers as color inspiration. :o)

A decadent, moist dark chocolate cake...not too sweet but very chocolately. The icing should be a lightly whipped buttercream frosting in chartreuse with a delicate tulle ruffle around the edge.

Tiny little buttercream roses in dark pink and butterflies in yellow and purple trim the seam between frosting and tulle. This makes the skirt.

Topping the skirt is the chartreuse satin torso of the most charming little pixie. Her hands are spread across the icing folds of her skirt. The delicate features on her face are very happy; eyes blissfully closed and rosebud lips in a gentle smile.

She has a wreath of flowers and butterflies in her rich, brown hair. And tiny, transparent chartreuse colored wings peep out from behind her slight shoulders.

I would instantly fall in love with a dark chocolate pixie cupcake!
