My Proudest Mommy Moment to Date

Sure, watching your little tyke learn how to crawl, walk, talk, share toys, say "I love you, Mommy," and play nicely with other children are all proud moments for a mom to witness and all that...

But yesterday, while I was watching Pride and Prejudice for the ten billionth time, Annelie walked over to the TV and pointed at the handsome hunk of Regency love and said, "There's Mr. Darcy."

A two year old with an appreciation for Jane Austen... my kinda kid. Now I just need to introduce her to Captain Wentworth *swoon!*

You're training the child up well. Now if she enters kindergarten speaking "jane austin speak" then you may be in trouble. :)

Love it! That's kind of how I felt when one of Sophie's first words was "Ina" :)

I've never read that book. I've never seen the movie either, because I feel like I need to read the book first. Do you have it? Could I borrow it?

Tia~ I don't actually have a copy of Pride and Prejudice... but I do have a copy of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, if you want to borrow that! Its Pride and Prejudice... and ultra-violent zombie mayhem.

The back cover reads: Pride and Prejudice and Zombies transforms a masterpiece of world literature into something you'd actually want to read.

That might be a good Jane Austen first for anyone :)

Oh man - she's after my own heart! I only hope that when I have kiddos that they will be trained... uh... taught to love Jane Austen :)

You are so funny :) I know Amelia recognizes Harry Potter, but she doesn't generally see anything I'd watch, since we save our grown up TV watching to when she's asleep. The other day, Dominic accidentally left the TV on Wanted (yes, that's your man James McAvoy) on a scene where they were beating the crap out of one another...and I had to scramble to change the channel.

I'm kinda partial to Sense and Sensibility myself :)

You know, sometimes when people wonder if they're good mothers and they go into that spiral of self doubt? You can skip right over that knowing you're giving your kids what they really need to be good people in this world. ;)

I love it! So adorable! Glad you are bringing your little girl up properly :)

*I even love the original Mr. Darcy (Colin Firth is so dreamy!)

OK, now you need to go to my blog and answer my question about why Jane Austen isn't coming to my house for tea any time soon.....
