Sure, watching your little tyke learn how to crawl, walk, talk, share toys, say "I love you, Mommy," and play nicely with other children are all proud moments for a mom to witness and all that...
But yesterday, while I was watching Pride and Prejudice for the ten billionth time, Annelie walked over to the TV and pointed at the handsome hunk of Regency love and said, "There's Mr. Darcy."
A two year old with an appreciation for Jane Austen... my kinda kid. Now I just need to introduce her to Captain Wentworth *swoon!*

You are so funny :) I know Amelia recognizes Harry Potter, but she doesn't generally see anything I'd watch, since we save our grown up TV watching to when she's asleep. The other day, Dominic accidentally left the TV on Wanted (yes, that's your man James McAvoy) on a scene where they were beating the crap out of one another...and I had to scramble to change the channel.
I'm kinda partial to Sense and Sensibility myself :)
You know, sometimes when people wonder if they're good mothers and they go into that spiral of self doubt? You can skip right over that knowing you're giving your kids what they really need to be good people in this world. ;)
