I'm not gonna lie -- I've never been a fan of St. Patrick's day.5 x 7 inches - Karen Faulkner Art

Generally, I like fairies and leprechauns and any chance to celebrate magic, and I LOVE Ireland, especially as that is where I met my husband... but truthfully, I was always that girl in school who completely forgot to wear green and therefore ended up with little finger print bruises all over my arms. People never listened when I insisted that my underpants had green on them.
And then, if that wasn't bad enough, my grandma always invited us over for an Irish feast of corned beef and cabbage... and again, I'm not gonna lie... I HATE corned beef and cabbage with a passion unparalleled.
Incidentally, I am wearing green today, though that is because I'm too lazy to change out of my pajama pants. But Gracie isn't wearing green, and Annelie isn't either, and I simply refuse to pinch them.
Yeah, thats right - today I'm going to rebel. No green clothes for us, no green beer, no corned beef and cabbage.... though I might just stick the Lord of the Dance DVD in for the girls to watch this afternoon, but only because I secretly adore Michael Flatley and saw L of the D live once and it was spectacular.
So Happy St. Paddy's Day to you and you and you, and if you are celebrating today, Hurray and may the luck of the Irish be on your side! And if you aren't... well, just know that you aren't alone. We can rebel together.

I'm wearing grey and blue jeans and Peri's wearing purple. :o) Technically, I guess Ryah is wearing green, but it's like khaki green, so I don't know if it counts.
Let's rebel together, Twin. :o)
thanks for sharing my watercolor shamrock with the readers ;)
I'm Irish and I forgot to wear green! Luckily nobody pinched me today :)

I'm wearing my green pajama pants too! You go, Girl, be strong and take a stand. (I was the same when I was young - ALWAYS forgot to wear green.)
I'm not a big fan of corned beef either - I made stuffed cabbage with ground turkey for dinner and it's gonna be yummy. Especially with a beer. :D

lol! I forgot to wear green too even though I had every intention to! I'm glad I didn't get pinched, cuz that would have hurt!
Madelyn did not wear green yesterday either! She wore pink and brown Hello Kitty....my husband informed me that when she got to preschool she FREAKED out with worry that she would be pinched (close to a full melt down)......her teachers said that there are no pinches there, instead you get "kissed", and then they put a shamrock sticker on her shirt. I love her school, too cute!
We are Irish here, but I can not make cornbeef and cabbage like her so I did not even try!
Love your story! You are such a good mommy! Much love from our house and a "kiss" from us to you all, NO pinches to you and the girls!
Warmly,
Leslie
Hey - I wore pajama pants with a bit of green in them too yesterday.
Ahhh the life of a SAHM - you get to wear pajama pants all stinking day long! That alone was celebration enough for me :)
